Credit Recovery

Students in grades 9–12 who are missing credits or are at risk of falling behind will benefit from Kaplan's Credit Recovery program. This program is available from a school computer-lab environment, or from anywhere your students have Internet access. See an increase in graduation rates or keep students who are in danger of dropping out engaged in their education, with an in-depth credit recovery solution.

The Credit Recovery program begins with a diagnostic placement through standardized and core course assessments. Teachers and academic coaches work with each student to develop an Academic Improvement Plan and frequently monitor student performance and pace, while providing interim assessments.

District Benefits

  • Increased per-pupil funding
  • Improved graduation rates
  • Bolstered instructional efficiencies

Credit Advancement

Enhance and expand your curriculum offerings to address the needs of high-performing students. Students will appreciate the breadth of Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and elective courses, as well as the one-to-one attention and instruction they receive from our certified teachers and academic coaches. Studies have shown that students who engage in high-level math and science, including AP courses, are more successful in college than students who do not have access to these courses.

District Benefits

  • Immediate access to numerous Honors, AP, and elective courses
  • Increased and improved course offerings and the preparedness of students

Homebound

Districts struggle to provide educational programs for students unable to attend a traditional school due to medical, behavioral, or other constraints. Often the programs involve costly tutoring and lack the same depth and breadth of courses that a student has in their regular school. KVE has homebound solutions that provide a full complement of middle and high school courses, allowing students to continue their progress with content aligned to their regular courses. Your virtual school will enable students to transition out of the traditional classroom, and back when ready, without losing pace on critical content.

District Benefits

  • Greater efficiency with KVE provided through a high degree of consultation and alignment with the district curriculum program
  • Improved coordination between KVE and district teachers enables students to pick up where their coursework left off, and transition back into the district classroom, upon their return

Alternative Education

Every school district has students who do not fit into the traditional model, such as adult learners, and it's challenging to provide these students with the appropriate instructional model due to the financial and logistical hurdles most schools face. Your virtual school can deliver broader reach to transform your alternative education programs into comprehensive tools that will strengthen your district and help you provide excellent service to all types of students.

District Benefits

  • A more robust and varied curriculum
  • Increase the numbers of students served, adding to per-pupil funding numbers
  • A broader array of courses and services

Juvenile Detention

Kaplan's Juvenile Detention program serves students confined to a detention center who are severely at risk. State-certified, highly qualified teachers develop a Student Academic Plan and provide in-center academic monitoring. Students with difficulties benefit from the individual intensive intervention with all instruction occurring in a secure online environment.

District / Juvenile Detention Center Benefits

  • A full middle and high school course curricula in a more cost-effective manner to an at-risk population otherwise not addressed
